The Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront is located in downtown St. Louis across the city's signature attraction, the Gateway Arch. Also within walking distance are Laclede's Landing, the historic Old Courthouse or Old Cathedral and a variety of restaurants to satisfy any appetite.

At 630 feet the Gateway Arch is not only taller than both the Washington Monument and the Statue of Liberty, but it is also the tallest building in Missouri. The Monument designed by architect Eero Saarinen is as wide as it is tall. The design of the arch came about as the result of a contest held in 1947-1948 to design a monument honoring western pioneers. Originally a trading post started by Pierre Laclede and Auguste Chouteau, today Laclede's Landing popularly known as "The Landing", presents a most astonishing transformation of historic riverfront warehouses, cobblestone streets into nightclubs, restaurants and offices. This thriving industrial area is alive both day and night. During the day tourists can be spotted roaming the streets and hitting unique gift shops, while at night revelers enjoy the sights and sounds of horse-drawn carriages and live music. One of the most renowned landmarks in St. Louis, the Old Courthouse is popular for its housing of the Dred Scott and Virginia Louisa Minor trials. The Courthouse was built on land that was donated by Auguste Chouteau and J.B.C. Lucas. Construction began in 1826 and continued until 1862 when this majestic structure emerged. A prominent monument, the Old Cathedral in St. Louis speaks the history of the city of St. Louis itself. It houses the Old Cathedral Museum which contains the vestiges of the early days of the Catholic Church in St. Louis. It is known as the "Mother Church" of St. Louis, and held the honor of being the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of St. Louis until 1914, when the New Cathedral came into being.
